Joe Jonas, the middle child from the boy band Jonas Brothers, recently has been making a name for himself as a solo artist. On September 7, 2011, he made a stop at the Theatre of Living Arts in Philadelphia to take the stage all by himself. His dedicated fans started lining up at 8:00 A.M. for a 7:30 P.M. show. When Joe arrived, he took time to greet his supporters outside before entering the building. There were fans of all ages, though it was apparent that this tour was aimed towards a more mature audience. At 7:30 P.M., opening acts JoJo and Jay Sean wowed the audience with their meaningful lyrics and powerful vocals. Next, Joe took the stage. The small venue was flooded with high pitched screams as the 22 year old began to sing. His set list consisted of many songs from his upcoming album “Fastlife”, a few old Jonas Brothers songs, and a heartfelt cover of Chris Brown’s “Beautiful People.” Joe was backed by three hip hop dancers and his newly established solo band. Although Joe and his brothers may have grown up with the “clean” reputation, as he grows older and branches out on his own, it seems as if he is trying to get away from this image. His solo concert may have been different from past Jonas Brothers concerts, but he found a way to blend the two styles perfectly. Whether you were an old Jonas Brothers fan or a new Joe fan in the crowd, it was a night that will not be forgotten.
