Les Miserables stars Hugh Jackman, Anne Hathaway, Amanda Seyfried, Sacha Baron Cohen, and Russell Crowe just to name a few. The movie premiered on Christmas Day, and has made $16.1 million since its release.
The movie is set in 19th century France and tells the journey of Jean Valjean who once was a criminal, but throughout his journey, changes into the man he always dreamed he would be. After he takes in the child of a worker named Fantine, we see them running throughout their lives from the ruthless policeman Javert, after Valjean breaks parole. Les Miserables tells the story of love, passion, sacrifice, and the strength of human spirit.
The cast of Les Miserables was spectacular and Anne Hathaway had the performance of her life. When she sang “ I Dreamed a Dream”, it gave me the chills, seeing all the cast getting into their character so perfectly really made the movie even more amazing to watch. Each member of the cast did their own singing, none of which was pre-recorded, and it made the movie that more real because you can actually hear them hurting, crying, or even laughing as they are singing. I would definitely recommend this movie to anyone who likes an inspirational and touching movie.
