On August 27th, thousands of viewers watched ABC Family’s original television show Pretty Little Liars, anxiously awaiting the answers to questions the season had in store. Who is Red Coat? Is Alison still alive? Will any more members of the A- team be revealed? The series takes place in a seemingly perfect town, Rosewood, Pennsylvania. Although buried under the facade of a quaint little town, dark secrets arise after Rosewood’s queen bee, Alison DiLaurentis, goes missing. Her four best friends soon receive messages  from an anonymous user A,mocking them with secrets that only Alison knew. But when Alison is found murdered, Spencer, Hanna, Aria, and Emily start to fear for their lives and the ones they love. Throughout the series A is revealed to be a team of people, torturing the girls for unknown reasons.

The summer finale “ Now You See Me, Now You Don’t” takes place mostly in Rosewood’s infamously different neighboring Ravenswood. Throughout the episode, the girls unmask one of two Red Coats, the first being Alison’s cunning friend Cece Drake. The Liars are led to A’s new lair, where they discover a major clue… that a could be a man. But the most shocking revelation of the episode is that Alison is alive, but hiding from A. In order to find and protect Alison from A, the girls decide to stay in Ravenswood.  The final scene shows a black- clad figure entering A’s lair. The figure turns around to be shown that A is Ezra Fitz, Aria’s boyfriend throughout the series. Many fans were left stunned that this beloved character would turn to the dark side, including myself. Pretty Little Liars is known to leave fans shocked with every episode, and with a revelation like this, there is no doubt that viewers will watch the premiere, on October 22nd, 2013.
