iHeartRadio Music Fesitval

On September 19th the iHeartRadio Music Festival brought an energetic atmosphere to Las Vegas.  Fans from all over the country came to the two-day event at the MGM Grand Garden Arena, to see artists including Taylor Swift, Iggy Azalea, 5 Seconds of Summer, One Direction, Paramore, and many more.

Taylor Swift started out the two-day event with a bang showing some her dance moves during her performance. Coldplay took the stage and made a fan’s night when Chris Martin casually took a selfie on the fan’s phone while laying down on stage; the fun didn’t stop there though. Usher followed Coldplay and invited Chris Brown onto a stage for a dance off, where he then danced out of his shoes and then set them on fire, literally.  The craziness simmered when Alicia Keys took the stage and sang her new inspiring single “We are here” as #WeAreHere messages appeared behind her. The madness came back when Pete Wentz, from Fall Out Boy crowded surfed across fans on a inflatable boat.  He also took two lucky fans on stage with him where he threw cake at them. Nicki Minaj performed as well, singing a few of her her hits songs, including a capella performance of “Flawless” after the music cut out.

Night two followed with just as much insanity as the night before. Paramore brought a talented fan on stage to rock out to “Misery Business,” which was followed by Neon Trees lead singer Tyler Glenn crowd surfing during their performance. Soon all the audience could hear was the ear-piercing screams which is thanks to One Direction and 5 Seconds of Summer. Rachel Mazzeo, a freshmen at Padua, said “I watched 5 Seconds of Summer on the livestream and [it was] awesome!!” Lil Jon also made a surprise appearance to perform his hit “Turn Down For What.” followed by Weezer’s epic group drum session.

Fans nights were made at the iHeartRadio Music Festival as they watched their favorite artists perform live, which was very apparent from their screaming, jumping, and dancing.
