Something New for Valentine’s Day

Something+New+for+Valentines+Day

Valentine’s Day is right around the corner and couples are trying to find something romantic to do. After all, Valentine’s Day is made for love. Not everyone is looking for the cliché “chocolates and fancy dinner,” so here are some ideas to switch up your 2016 Valentine’s Day!

  1. Go on a scavenger hunt! Since all the other couples are out at a fancy restaurant in town, the roads should be clear enough for you to have the entire city to roam around. The final clue could lead to a special place where you and your significant other met, or it could simply be your house where you can relax for the rest of the night.
  2. Double or triple date! Grab some of your friends that are in a relationships and go out to dinner. You’ll have a lot more to talk about and are guaranteed to have a lot of fun.
  3. Throw a party! For all you single people out there, you know how you’ll be spending Valentine’s Day: in sweats, watching movies, and eating junk food. So why not put some use to the day? Grab all your single friends, throw a great party, and have the best Valentine’s Day.
  4. Stay home and eat chips! If you’ve seen Season One of Dance Moms, you’ll get that reference. But honestly, if you and your significant other just aren’t up to doing anything, there’s nothing wrong with relaxing, watching movies, and spending quality time together.
  5. Sleep in that morning and stay up really late. So what, you have school tomorrow, but everyone knows that the best conversations are the ones where you just keep talking and talking and you lose track of time. You might be sleep deprived and fall asleep in class, but in the end, you’ll always remember that crazy time you spent Valentine’s Day talking, laughing, and having the best time until you realized it was 3 in the morning the next day.
  6. If you’re single and looking to mingle, try asking someone out. Going out on a first date on Valentine’s Day is super cute and of course, the anniversary date is an easy one to remember!
  7. Have a game night! Games are a great way to pass the time while having incredible fun. If you don’t want to play games like Monopoly or Jenga, try playing the Wii or XBox (if you still have one), or you could even come up with crazy games of your own!
  8. Have a picnic! Usually around this time, there is snow on the ground and a bit chilly outside, so getting comfy around a warm (real or virtual) fireplace is the way to go! Don’t forget to put the roses that you should’ve gotten in a vase right next to your romantic dinner on the uncomfortable floor.
  9. Take a trip down memory lane and recreate your first date! If you’re still together, the first date must’ve been pretty special. But if you made a few slip-ups because you were really nervous, now is the time to make it right! Either way, you’ll be having déjà vu for most of the night.
  10. If you don’t like planning something new and different, there’s nothing wrong with showing up with a box of chocolates in a heart box and going out for dinner at the fanciest (and most expensive) restaurant you can find!

No matter what you do on Valentine’s Day, make sure you do something that is fun, and something that you love, with who you love.
