All My Life: A True Love Tragedy

All My Life, given a 59% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes, is a movie about cherishing every moment you have with someone special.
The movie follows newly engaged couple Jennifer Carter and Solomon Chau, who are ready to begin their lives together and have the summer wedding of their dreams. When Solomon is diagnosed with terminal liver cancer, their dream wedding becomes impossible. With the help of their friends, Jennifer and Solomon realize they need to cherish every moment they have together before it is too late.
Make sure to have tissues near you watching this movie, especially once you realize it is based on a true story. Jessica Rothe and Harry Shum Jr. have amazing chemistry in their scenes together, especially the first date scene and the scene where Solomon is first diagnosed with cancer. The supporting actors in this film are great too, they seem like they have known the main characters their entire lives.
While the movie and its characters are lovable, the movie can seem cliché. This trend of movies where a couple falls in love and one of them gets sick is very common.
However, while movies like The Fault in Our Stars and Five Feet Apart focus on the sad moments, All My Life’s focus is on the happy moments, like Jennifer and Solomon’s surprise wedding. Despite the cliché, All My Life deserves an award for being the most inspirational movie of 2020.
