The 2011-2012 Padua swim season is more than half way through their season. So far they have four wins and three losses. Captain Taylor Shelley says, “I think our season is going really well. We have been supporting and cheering each other on at every meet. We have a lot of team spirit and I am really proud of this team.”
The Pandas first meet was against The Tower Hill School. The meet was a great opening, as the team prevailed in 9 out of 11 events and winning 115-54. Padua’s next meet was against Ursuline Academy. Before the meet started, one of the lane lines broke leaning the pool with only four lanes instead of the normal six. Although the team lost, they put up a good fight. Throughout the meet, the score went back and forth. Finally, the final score showed Ursuline won by 2, 48-46. Padua’s third meet was against second-ranked St. Mark’s High School. Even though losing, the team swam all they could and gave St. Mark’s some good competition.
After losing two in a row, the team turned it around at their next meet against Concord High School. The team once again got off to a great start as they triumphed to win 9 out of 11 events. The Pandas won 104-66. At the next meet, the team completed with Salesianum against Unionville (PA). Padua gave them some good competition even though losing 98-67. At the next meets, Padua was triumphant. At the first meet, Padua faced Archmere Academy. Again Padua won 9 out of 11 to out an end to Archmere’s undefeated season. Then Padua traveled to Chichester High School. From the start, Padua hammered Chichester winning 10 out of 11 events. At this meet, Padua even had the chance to see Alexis France (’14) dive. Alexis won the diving portion at the meet. Padua Swim Team has three meets left before States.
