Pep Rally

Pep Rally

On September 27, 2013 Padua students had a taste of what sisterhood really is. It was the annual pep-rally and the crowd was ecstatic. The Freshmen were obviously overwhelmed by this at first but you could tell by just after 5 minutes they were happier than ever. It began with the student council officers, they announced everything that was going on and what was to happen. The first group to perform was the Padua and Sallies marching band. They played the song “Don’t Stop Believin'”, one of the songs from their show, and “25 or 6 to 4”, a shorter piece often played in the stands of the football games. Along with them came the flags and baton twirlers, who had a perfect routine planned out for the occasion. Next was the cheerleaders, they had many different routines planned they threw girls into the air and caught them, They also did many flips and tricks. Cheerleader and sophomore Mackenzie Setter said, “It was so exciting!”.

Student council did an excellent job planning this pep-rally because it wasn’t just the crowd watching people perform they had events to. It was a challenge student against student. Although in the end of the challenge it didn’t matter who won, the real challenge was to strengthen our sisterhood. To wrap it all up the dance team came out and had an amazing performance. The crowd was astonished by how well it all turned out. Dance team manager and freshman Emma Lyles says, “I want my girls to know that I am super proud of them, they were absolutely amazing. They worked so hard, I am so proud of them.” After everything that had gone on in the pep-rally the freshman, sophomores, juniors, and seniors could all see how amazing this school year is going to be.
