Padua Academy Soccer Update

Padua Academy’s soccer team has recently started their 2014 season. The team has been preparing and practicing hard to hopefully win this year’s state championship. The team has a very good chance, but still has to work hard because the championship can go to anyone. Winning the state championship for the past two years has been very encouraging, but also can be very nerve wracking for the girls. Trying to uphold a state championship streak is very difficult, especially because of the amount of confidence it can give the team. Confidence can help the team tremendously, but it can also be their worst enemy. The soccer team’s only option is to  train hard and focus on their goal during this exciting season.

In an interview with Rachel Giffin, current JV soccer player for Padua Academy, she explained how the season is, “going really well. We’ve beat every team we’ve played by a lot.” Practicing five to six days a week, Padua works to keep their skills up to be a tough competitor for the opposing teams. Rachel thinks the team is very well prepared for this upcoming season.

Hopefully Padua’s soccer team can win  another state championship for Padua this year. Padua Academy is expecting six state championships this year, and soccer can help Padua achieve their goal. Not only would winning the soccer state championships help Padua achieve their goal, but it would also be the soccer team’s third state championship in a row.
