Upcoming+Winter+Sports

As the fall sports come to an end, the winter sports teams begin to to start their seasons. Padua Academy’s winter sports include basketball, competitive cheerleading, indoor track, and swimming. Tryouts for all of these sports are right around the corner, so it’s time to prepare for the games, meets, and competitions.

Our basketball team in the 2012-2013 season had an overall record of 8-13-0 and were ranked 11th in the state. In the next season of 2013-2014 the girls had an overall record of 16-11-0 and ended up being ranked 6th in the state. Hopefully this year the team can maintain their record and strive to become even better for this 2014-2015 season and by getting ranked even higher in the state. Camryn Scully, class of 18’, says “It’s my first time playing with Padua and just in the preseason I’m already excited to start the official season.” The girls will start their season off playing a home game on December 5, 2014, against St. Andrew’s, J.V at 4:00 p.m. and varsity at 5:15 p.m, so try to come out and support the team!

The Padua swim team will start off their season with a meet against Delaware Military Academy held at Fraim Boys Club on December 15, 2014 at 5:30 p.m. Hopefully, the girls will come out with a win.

Padua Academy has a great cheer team for the Salesianum school football team but as football season ends our competitive cheer starts up. Our girls travel while representing our school well. Tryouts, the schedule and any additional information will be announced soon.

Padua’s outdoor track and cross country team had a successful and record breaking season for the 2014-2015 year but as they finish soon, the girls will move on with indoor track this winter.
