On Thursday April 27, Padua’s student council kicked off a mini spirit week. The week’s activities began with a twin themed dress down. Students sported matching attire with their “twin.” The following afternoon, the student body enjoyed a “spring fever” spirit assembly. Students dressed down in neon hues of their favorite spring time colors. In the afternoon both students and faculty celebrated with a spirit assembly. This spirit assembly was a new addition to the schedule by this year’s student council. Students signed up in advance for the games they would like to participate in during the assembly. Students were selected at random from the sign-up sheets to compete against their peers and teachers. The games ranged from the classics, musical chairs and balloon pop, to some new additions like a teacher versus student race. A favorite among faculty and students alike was watching the dean of students, Mrs. Menalski, and student body Vice President, Marykate McGurk (’12), have eggs dumped on their heads. The Padua student council hopes to make the spring spirit assembly an annual event.
