Student life here at Padua

Being a freshman can be very confusing but Padua tries to make that transition as smooth as possible.  Students are always trying to make sure to get to classes on time, or if they are using the right door. Some might say that the upperclassmen are “intimidating.” Padua makes the transition very welcoming and comforting. Keeley D. ’20, explains all about her transition from middle school to high school.

“ I really don’t think that the transition was as hard as some people think,” Keeley said. She says she has friends that will help her with school work and a family that will always push her to do her best.

According to many teachers and staff at Padua, having people to talk to about school, friends and other things really makes the transition much more bearable. Keeley said, “Being welcomed and comfortable is one of Padua’s biggest goals. All the teachers make you feel like you’re apart of something special in each class.”

She also talked about the sisterhood at Padua and how close everyone is. “Everyone has your back, and it doesn’t matter if you’re best friends with someone or you’re not, they’re there for you.” Keeley said that the Tuesday fun nights during the summer helped her meet new people and feel more comfortable with the school as well.

Keeley shared her favorite tools to help her stay on top of her school work, “Flex is key in staying on top of your work. It’s a very useful time of the day especially for some of my friends that stay after school for sports and clubs.” During this time you can visit a teacher for extra help, grab a snack in the cafe or even go to the gym to pass around a volleyball. Keeley says staying on top of your work and using your time wisely is the key for success.
