Frankie K: Life with Alternative Music

Frankie K. first encountered alternative music at the age of seven when the band the Script released their song “Break Even.” Her music taste went through a deciding metamorphosis though, when she saw the Script and One Republic in concert. Since then, she has grown to love Imagine Dragons, Black Veil Brides, All Time Low, Fall Out Boy, and so many others. Frankie is going to an All Time Low concert May 22 and has band t-shirts for All Time Low, Pierce the Veil, and One Republic. “My favorite music quote is ‘Maybe it’s not my weekend but it’s gonna be my year’ from [the song] Weightless by All Time Low.”

Not only does she love music, but Frankie loves reading and writing as well as the video sharing website YouTube. The Book Thief is her favorite novel, but while this heartrending novel takes place in the cruel reality of Nazi Germany, the stories she writes have fantasy worlds and and alternate universes as their setting. Her favorite YouTube personalities are Dan Howell and Phil Lester, often recognized for their YouTube channel titles danisnotonfire and amazingphil. She hopes to one day be able to meet them in person at Playlist Live, a gathering of YouTubers held in Orlando, Florida.

Frankie is part of the freshmen class, and attended Freshmen FIT in the summer. Like many Padua students, she lives in Wilmington, Delaware. In her spare time, along with all her other interests, she also likes to watch T.V. Her favorite shows currently are Doctor Who and Parks and Rec, but she also likes to reminisce on old shows like Zoey 101 and Drake and Josh. So far, Frankie loves Padua, and with such varied interest and amiable personality, she is going to thrive for the next four years.
