Mr. McGeehan: Padua’s Newest Teacher

Mr. McGeehan: Paduas Newest Teacher

“My favorite part about teaching is seeing what students come up with every day and hearing what they have to say, whether it’s a joke or just an idea. It keeps things new and exciting,” says Padua’s newest IT department member, Mr. McGeehan. Mr. McGeehan is from Delaware County and went to Temple University. He’s been teaching for 4 years now. Previously he worked at Northley Middle School in Delaware County, and now has found his way into Padua. Mr. McGeehan loves anything relating to computer science and especially loves teaching it to students. Having never taught at an all girls school, this was a new experience for him, “At first it was a little intimidating, but I’m much more comfortable now.” Along with teaching Web Page Design and Intro to IT classes, he’s helping out with the robotics team for the 2015-2016 school year. Computers are Mr. McGeehan’s passion. He explained why he finds them so interesting “I love computers because nothing ever works the right way the first time around-it’s just another puzzle you have to solve.”

Mr. McGeehan is very family oriented. “I like the way teaching has a good balance between work and family.” His favorite food is sushi and his favorite color is purple. He enjoys watching thrillers, especially Johnny Depp movies. He also loves to re-watch his favorite TV show, The Office. “I’ve watched the entire series at least 6 times through.”  In his free time you can find him playing tennis, soccer, or solving a Rubik’s Cube. In the future, Mr. McGeehan hopes to launch a social media site that differs from anything currently out there. When he does, we can say we knew him first!
