Each year five upcoming seniors are chosen by the student body to fulfill positions on the Executive Officer Board for Padua. On Tuesday, April 10, the Executive Officer interest meeting took place, wherein the current board members spoke to prospective executive board candidates about their responsibilities as officers and the requirements for running in the election. Twelve juniors attended and learned about what being an officer entails and the significance of their contribution to the Padua community. Student Council moderator, Mrs. Kilmon, explains that the executive officers are the face of Padua and that they must be ready to take the bull by the horns if they plan to make positive change within the community and a successful year for everyone.

Some of the responsibilities required of the board members include planning various events like Winter Ball, Prom, and working with Salesianum and Ursuline student councils to plan SALSTHON. The girls strive to create a fun, “faith filled Padua experience no one forgets” said Kilmon. It is Mrs. Kilmon’s job to help the girls recognize the talents that they can share with the student body throughout their time as officers. “I hope the girls [officers] next year learn what leadership style is best suited for them and to learn how to use their individual skills together to create a bond which will bring success not only to themselves but to the entire Padua community” said Kilmon.
