iOS9

On September 9, 2015 Apple released their newest version of iOS, iOS9. This update included many new features. These new features bring key enhancements to your apps, and introduce new ones that will change how you experience news. iOS9 introduces its users to a new and improved news app. This app pulls all the latest news from various news sources so you never miss out on current events. Along with the News app there’s, News Publisher, which will let you choose articles that you want to read about and pull those articles for you. Along with these apps built in to iOS9, the well known app Notes was totally transformed. Instead of just being able to jot down thoughts, you can now add photos, maps, create to-do lists, and even draw with your finger!

Another upgrade is with the Maps app. You can now pair maps with your route using public transportation so it will tell you what transportation to take and plot it from point A to B. Another app, Wallet, allows you to use cards, such as Discover and securely pay with your card on the app. Soon you will be able to use store gift cards on the app along with all of your credit cards. Apple also introduced a new aspect to iCloud, iCloud drive. This allows you to store all your files in one place.

On the iPad you can split the screen into two and multi-task. For example you can open the music app and use that while you’re on the screen for email.  Another feature called picture in a picture allows you to double-click on your home button while on Facetime and that makes the Facetime screen go in the bottom corner while you are doing something else like reading emails or texting. There is also the new feature of quick typing which allows you to move your fingertips across the screen to type.
