Late last year three bands took the stage in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, at a venue called the Chameleon Club. The first band to hit the stage was a band called Bad Rabbits. They entertained the crowd with their catchy songs and choreographed dances that definitely left an impression on the audience. Their music style was very different compared to anything else I had heard in a long time. Their throwback eighty’s style allowed the crowd to have a good time while getting the chance to really feel the emotions behind their lyrics. The band sang their fans’ favorite songs from their album, Stick Up Kids. Even though their set lasted only about an hour, they left the crowd in a good mood for the next band to take the spotlight.
Around seven thirty in the evening, the crowd went crazy as the five boys of a band called The Maine, nonchalantly walked on to the stage. The lead singer, John O’Callaghan, introduced the boys and opened the show with one of their recent hits from their album, Black and White. As the night went on, they sang some of their beloved songs like,” Into Your Arms,” “Listen to Your Heart,” “We’ll All Be…,” and much, much more. Their alternative sound and incredible lyrics were a nice contrast to the upbeat throwback feel of their opener. The band had no problem entertaining the crowd whether it was an enjoyable song or the quick wit that came from different members to fill the silence in between songs. The band also gave their fans a sneak peak at their new album, Pioneers, which was released on December 6, 2011. The set began and ended way too fast, after about an hour and a half of their music the boys said goodbye and introduced the next band, Taking Back Sunday.
Taking Back Sunday took the stage around nine. Their style of music is entirely different from that of both of their opening acts. Their music was a type of alternative, but was more punk and metal. One thing about this concert that was unique was the blend of the artists. Not one of the bands had the same genre of music. The night ended with a meet and greet with the three bands. The bands took pictures and talked to their fans until everyone had a opportunity to meet their favorite members.
