Ice Cream or Water Ice

• Ice cream is a frozen dairy dessert most commonly eaten in warmer weather by people all over the world.

• Water ice is another frozen dessert made by finely crushed ice and that has been sweetened and flavored using types of syrup. It is commonly referred to as Italian Ice outside of the Philadelphia metropolitan area.

Beach or Pool

• The beach is a place many people go in the summer to enjoy leisure and recreational activities.

• In the summer and warmer weather, many people enjoy swimming in a pool.

Winter or Summer

• Winter is the coldest season of the year. During this season, people enjoy activities such as snowboarding, skiing, sledding, and skating.
  • “I prefer winter to summer because I like the cold and snow much better than being hot all the time. I also prefer winter clothing and being bundled up in scarves, hats, and boots. The winter holidays and sports are much more enjoyable to me than those in the summer.” – Tori DeLissio
• Summer is the hottest season of the year. The days are longest and the nights are shortest during the season. Schools typically have a break during this time of the year. Activities during this week include going to the beach, swimming, water sports, and different outdoor activities.

Dogs or Cats

• Dogs were the first domesticated animal used for working, hunting, and as companions in human history. Because of this, they have come to be known as “man’s best friend.”
  • “In my opinion, dogs are much better than cats because they are more loyal and loving. They are more energetic and fun to own. My dog always seems to know how I’m feeling and always makes me feel better. Dogs just seem to have more of an unconditional love for all things.” – Ally Byrne

• The domestic cat is usually a smaller, furry animal often kept as a household companion. Cats have flexible bodies, ears that can sense very faint or high pitched noises, and eyes that can see in the dark.
  • “I have always been a cat person. They are much more independent than dogs but still very affectionate. Cats are usually calmer but they still have their moments of being fun and goofy. Cats are also much easier to house train.” – Meghan Stover

Books or Movies

• Books and writing on tablets to keep records have been used since the beginning of time. Since then, an uncountable amount of books of different genres have been written for entertainment and enjoyment, facts and references, and much more. Some genres of books are drama, romance, mythology, comedy, fiction, nonfiction, and biography.
  • “While movies are nice, I have always enjoyed reading books more. Books let you feel and live everything going on in the story. It is so easy to just pick up a book and completely get lost in it for hours. It is as if you are in another world. You get to set the scene in your own mind and choose what everyone and everything in the book would look like. There are no limits and nothing is impossible while reading a book.” – Brittany Leonard
• Movies began playing in the late 1800’s and became an even more popular industry in the twentieth century. Some types of movies are documentaries, comedies, romances, thrillers, action, and adventure. They are stories or events recorded by cameras as a set of moving images usually shown in theaters or on television.
  • “I like watching movies better than reading books because they always bring new worlds onto the screen and bring the characters to life. I also find them easier to understand than books too.
