Children’s Mental Health Awareness Week
The first week of May in the United States is regarded as Children’s Mental Health Week. This was established to raise awareness of the variety of mental conditions that affect hundreds of thousands of children each day, so that people can “come together to advocate for a full array of effective services and supports for children affected by mental illness,” as stated by the National Alliance on Mental Illness.
