The Padua field hockey team has reached its mid-season, and so far it has been a good one. During this first half of the season, Padua has won three games, lost five, and tied one. On the team, there are two freshmen, five sophomores, eight juniors, and five seniors. The coach is Jayne Capriglione, and the captains are Emily Brindle and Rachel Zane, both seniors.
When asked what she hopes the outcome will be for the team, Jessica Clerval, a junior on the field hockey team, she expressed that she wants the team to go all the way and wins states. Jessica stated that the toughest game yet was against Charter, and the most saves she has gotten this season in a single game were nineteen. Another junior on the Padua field hockey team, Caitlin Cooke, said that she is looking forward to playing Saint Marks. She said her best game was, “against Caravel even though we lost three to two“.
Padua Academy has a great field hockey team, an excellent hockey field with accurate hockey pitch dimensions, and their dream of winning states will one day be fulfilled if they continue to put in the work and the time.
