End of a Beautiful Season
On Monday November 12, the Padua varsity volleyball girls took down Ursuline Academy in the championship game. Over a hundred girls went to support our Padua Academy family at the Bob Carpenter Center! Everyone was pumped up and ready to see Padua win. In the first game of the match Ursuline ended up winning but it was extremely close, and we knew that Padua was going to come back with vengeance. The players kept everyone on their toes with every win. It was just a pattern with Padua winning one game and Ursuline another. The crowd was anxious to know if Padua was going to come out on top. When it came down to the last game, Padua played their hearts out and took an early lead so that it was difficult for the Ursuline team to catch up. The last game ended with the score of 15-8, and Padua Academy took the title as volleyball state champions.
Volleyball Team Rejoices
The volleyball team was overjoyed when they defeated the Ursuline team. Alison F. (’14) says, “I thought the game was a really close game.” She also says “It was the best feeling in the world when we won. You can’t really explain it unless you go through it, and to be the first Padua volleyball state champions…was amazing!”
