School has just started along with this Falls Padua Field Hockey season. This year’s team is made up of 17 girls all of which have their own important roles in the team. Seniors Jessica Clerval, Caitlin Cooke, and Nikki Sabatina, are the team captains. The head coach is Coach Capriglione and the assistant coaches are Coach Grimes and Coach Cathell. The team plans to practice five days a week at Forbes Field from 3:30-5:30. They follow a similar routine for each practice: stretch, run, practice drives, and do other drills. They will also spend time working on and improving things they did poorly in a previous match so they won’t make the same mistakes the next time.

The team is already off to a good start with a 3-2 win at Middletown. Other matches they have planned will be against St Elizabeths, DMA, St. Marks, Charter, Ursuline, Sanford, Caravel, and Red Lion which will all lead up to the championships on November 16^th.Team captain Jessica Clerval shared the strategies they plan to use this season, “We plan to have quick passes and distributing the ball to the outside to take advantage of our quick forwards and midfield. We hope to set the pace of the game and score early to set a safe lead.” She also stated her expectations for them, “We would like to be ranked in the top five going into the state tournament. Our team has a lot of potential this year.” Hopefully all of their hard work and preparation will help them meet this goal.
