The Junior Ring Mass

This past Wednesday, the class of 2017 all came to St. Anthony’s Church for their Junior Ring Mass. The Church was buzzing with excited family members and girls ready to be presented with their rings.

All of the juniors lined up outside of the church and patiently waited to walk into the church. Parents, grandparents, and other relatives all came to support and celebrate their loved ones. Walking in pairs, the juniors entered St. Anthony of Padua’s church. Father Nick gave the homily about Jesus washing his disciple’s feet. Father Nick described the process of washing feet. After the homily, the class of 2017 sang a number of songs including the Alma Mater and We Are One Body. After readings, a few more songs, and communion; it was finally time for the juniors to get their rings. Father Nick blessed the rings before distributing them. First, the student council was presented with their rings. After that, the rest of the student body followed. In groups of four, the girls proceeded up to the altar to be handed their rings from the administration. A few students were presented rings by their Alumni family members.

After the ceremony, many of the girls went back to Padua for a reception in the Cafe. There was food and drinks here for the girls and their family members to enjoy.
