On March 21, 2013, Padua had a PM assembly where John Agnotti came to speak and perform about believing in God. He talked about the “God Moments” of life, some of God’s miracles, and sang songs to help us be able to relate to what he was talking about. The assembly was very active and Padua students were definitely inspired by his words.
John Agnotti is a singer from West Virginia who lives in Memphis, Tennessee. In Memphis, he writes music, performs, and lives with his family. He has two children, one of them being a teenage girl like all of us. In the assembly, he spoke about his daughter, and how she believes in God, and what our parents are trying to do for us by raising us as Catholics.
At the assembly, we did a lot of moving around. To begin, we were told to hug the people next to us and tell them that we love them. Then, he called up many juniors and seniors to the stage to do a dance while he sang. After that, we sang some more songs like “Don’t Stop Believing,” “Lean on Me,” “Home,” and “We are One Body” and listened to him speak, and to finish off the assembly, we linked arms and sang a few other songs.
Many people were inspired and impressed by his performance, not only because of the singing, but also because of the content of his speech. A lot of things in his speech pushed people to believe in God and it worked. By giving examples of trust, love, hope, miracles, and God Moments. John Agnotti was successful in his presentation.
