Real VS Fake Christmas Tree

Christmas time is just around the corner and it’s almost time to put up your Christmas tree! Depending on the family, some have a live tree, some have an artificial, some have a big tree, some have a little one. According to minnpost.com, for every family who owns an artificial tree, three families have a live one for the holidays.

Around Padua, it seems as though having a large, real, tree is the more popular option. Sydney Johnson, a junior at Padua, says, “Every weekend after Thanksgiving, my family goes out to buy a Christmas tree together. I love spending time with them and starting off the holidays this way every year.” Lyndsay Ryan, another junior, adds, “Having a real tree is a huge part of Christmas for my family and I. I love the smell and the aura it gives off, and it just adds so much to my house and I wouldn’t trade it for anything.”

Maggie Banker, a junior, has a fake tree, but still finds it equally as meaningful as a live tree, “My tree is so beautiful, and I love decorating it with my family during Christmas time. It’s a tradition to set it up the Sunday after Thanksgiving, and this tradition means a lot to me.” Whether you have an artificial tree, or a live tree, both are an equally large part of the Christmas season.
