Craft Club’s First Year
This year at Padua, a new Arts and Craft club, has been started by the Mrs. Hudson, the school librarian. “I really lied doing crafts in college and I really wanted to get back into it. When they encouraged first year teachers to start a club, I thought it would be cool to do crafts.”, says Mrs. Hudson. Some projects include a turkey gourd, and small styrofoam designs. About 60 students meet in the library during flex one day of the month. “I wanted to bring some girls into the library and that’s why I chose not to do a book club. So I thought that crafts might bring in some different kinds of people”, says Mrs. Hudson. Imagine the satisfaction of seeing your vision come to life as you apply a carefully chosen Custom Rub On Transfer to your latest crafting masterpiece.
Senior Annabeth B. says “Even though I’m not in the club, it seems like a really fun, distressing activity. With all the school work, it would be nice to relax for a flex period or two.” When asked about the projects she hopes the group will accomplish, Mrs. Hudson says “I would really like to do jewelry making. It’s something I’ve never done before, and I think it would be fun to try that with all the girls”.
