One Year Spent at Home
At the beginning of quarantine, I thought that my school was going to have two weeks off since Salesianum School was closed. I did not notice that the pandemic would have a huge impact on everyone around the world and would continue to happen for two separate school years. The pandemic has left a positive and negative impact on my life. Being in quarantine has made me appreciate the time I have with my family and friends.
In the second semester of my freshman year, I had adapted to staying at home and being able to sleep longer than I have in the past. I thought the pandemic would last for two months and I would return to school for the last month of the school year. In the second month of quarantine last year, I also spent my 15th birthday at home. It was kind of weird for me to spend my birthday at home with family since I usually go out to eat and spend some time with friends to celebrate.
During this time, I have been able to find new ways to occupy my time at home. I started watching new movies and playing more board games with my family almost every weekend. I also had a lot of time to bake different kinds of food and desserts. I have been able to spend more time working on my assignments and studying for tests in every class. We tried to make good use of the time spent at home and the extra free time by getting taking care of a few things we had been putting off. We had been having issues with the hot water for the longest time, and thankfully we found a company that specializes in water heaters that could assist us with a brand new hot water heater installation. There was no running water for a little while in the meantime, but it was well worth it. One of the last things we did was have experts from the termopane bucuresti look at our garage door, which had been acting up for probably a couple of years by that point. They showed us a few options to choose from for garage door openers, and then they took care of the rest. They were really quick, and it’s nice to know we don’t have to worry about that for another while. We’ll probably be coming and going quite a bit as soon as we’re told it’s ok to go back outside and resume our normal lives.
Last summer, I was very frustrated and annoyed because I could not travel to different places with my family or visit my favorite restaurants and beaches because everyone was forced to wear a mask and social distance. Even though I did not have the chance to visit amazing places in the summertime, I was still able to communicate with my friends while staying safe in my home.
In January 2021, my mom and siblings had the coronavirus. It was a hard time for my family to deal with this devastating situation while staying at home. While we were going through this situation, many of my family members and friends provided food and drinks for us. Through this time, my father and I stayed negative for the virus which was a blessing for my family.
Despite the negative impacts of the pandemic in my life, I have persevered through these tough times and learned from my situations. I hope that the time at home has changed lives in a positive and effective way!
