How did you react to the announcement of you being valedictorian?

I was not expecting [it], but I’m very honored, especially with the four other girls. I am honored to be a part of the legacy.

How many AP and honors classes did you take?

I took six APs. For honors, I just took any one that was available to me.

Who was your biggest motivator through high school?

I feel like my sister was my biggest motivator because she not only inspired me to keep working hard, but she also always encouraged me. She always made sure that I was not getting too overwhelmed with work.

What was your biggest obstacle on your way to being where you are today?

Time management. I commit to a lot of things so it is hard to find a balance. It took me a while to figure out how to schedule everything and still have time for myself and my friends and my family. And then what are your plans for the future?

I am going to be at the University of Virginia and I’m planning on majoring in kinesiology and minoring in business.
