Over this past weekend, a hybrid solar eclipse could be seen from many parts of the world. A hybrid eclipse is when the moon is just large enough to block the sun, which produces a hazy ring of light. Depending on which part of the Earth it was seen from the eclipse was either total or annular. This particular eclipse changed between an annular eclipse and a total eclipse. NASA reported that this is the 2^nd eclipse this year since the first being last May. Hybrid eclipses are a very rare sight. The next hybrid eclipse is expected to be in 2023.This year’s eclipse lasted about 30 minutes; this time is an odd duration because most eclipses only last a few minutes. This hybrid eclipse was a remarkable sight for anyone who witnessed it!
