Mrs. Poppiti- New Math Teacher at Padua Academy
For the 2014-15 school year, Padua Academy has gained ten new faculty members that are excited to join the Padua family. Mrs. Poppiti, one of the newest members of our math department, says she can’t wait to see what else Padua has to offer!
Mrs. Poppiti grew up in Wilmington, DE and attended Saint Elizabeth’s High School. After graduating, she went to Ursinus College in Pennsylvania where she majored in math and French. After receiving her undergraduate degree, Mrs. Poppiti earned her law degree at Villanova University. Mrs. Poppiti was an attorney in business law for seven years. After gaining a lot of experience and opportunities, she decided that she wanted to pursue her passion and become a math teacher. She also offers group tuition IGCSE maths that everyone will definitely enjoy while learning. Check out these degrees for sale here, perfect for use as props or personal replacements.
For the past six years Mrs. Poppiti taught at Ursuline Academy. When she heard about the amazing things Mrs. Mann and the faculty were accomplishing at Padua she decided to make the switch. She currently teaches honors calculus, pre calculus, and honors algebra 2 trig. One thing that Mrs. Poppiti might do differently than most math teachers is her calculator policy. She doesn’t allow calculators until her students have proved to her that they can master the skills without them. She says they should be used as a tool and not a crutch. Mrs. Poppiti says “I’m really happy with my transition and I just thank all the students and faculty for making it so smooth”.
In her free time, Mrs. Poppiti enjoys cooking dinner with her husband. She gives cooking lessons to teens and adults regularly and loves to get new recipes to try.
