UD Rugby Suspension

UD Rugby Suspension

This September, college partying took over the University of Delaware community. The online web show “I’m Schmacked,” came to UD to do its usual filming of crazy, partying students. Unfortunately what started out as a couple hundred tickets sold to an “undecided” venue, became a mob of students wanting to be in the spotlight. The UD rugby team took the fall for this partying.

The UD Rugby Club is composed of 70 members. Two of these members were accused for starting this “schmacked” riot at the “UD rugby house” as it is known on campus, making the accusation worse. After the complete rugby team was suspended for things found in “The University of Delaware Code of Conduct includes standards of conduct for student organizations. Sanctions for student organizations found in violation of the Code include multiyear suspensions,”as stated on  delawareonline.com.  The case was in need of further investigation that more members of the team were also involved.
