Junior year is one of the most stressful times in our years here at Padua. It is a time where we begin the college search and start prepping for SATs. With all of the stress surrounding our junior year it is nice to know that we can have confidence in our class officers to make this year one that is memorable and full of fun experiences.
On Wednesday, September 19th, the junior class gathered in Roberto Hall to listen to the speeches of the 8 girls running for student officer positions. Lucy Vavala, Shannon Stiener, Jen Borio, Nikki Sabitino, Angie Spadechinni, Emily Evans, Nicole Du, and Bridget Fassano all ran for a class officer position for the 2012-2013 school year. Each of the girls presented an excellent speech and it was a hard decision for each of the juniors to make.
Each of these girls had hopes of being a part of the junior year event planning, including the plans for prom, winter ball, and other activities through the year. Unfortunately only four of these girls were chosen to participate in the student councilĀ at that level. The four winners were Lucy Vavala, Shannon Stiener, Jen Borio, and Nikki Sabitino. While there were some disappointments for the other four candidates who were not chosen, we know the new class officers will do their absolute best to make this the best possible year for everyone.
