Freshman Class Officially Begins Their Padua Journey

On September 24, 2013 the class of 2017 officially began their time at Padua with the Freshman Convocation. Father Nick Waseline led mass at the church of St. Anthony. The mass included several speeches, including a welcome address from Mrs. Mann and a reflection speech by senior Erin Wendelburg on the four S’s of Padua.  The entire freshman class was joined by their families, Padua’s faculty, and several upperclassmen for mass and the reception of their yellow rose buds. This symbolizes the start of their Padua careers. At the end of their time at Padua they will come back to the same church for graduation to receive a fully bloomed yellow rose.

There was excitement in the air from the freshman class as they were inducted into the Padua community. Freshman Ciara Brady says that the ceremony was “memorable and inspiring.” Emily Bishop says “it was very kind and a good memory to keep.” The entire community (alumnae, faculty, and current students) wishes the class of 2017 the best of luck in their four years at Padua. It is sure to be filled with excitement, fun, sisterhood, and of course, an unrivaled education.
