Class of 2013 is Thriving A College Freshmen

The Padua class of 2013 is getting along very well in their freshman year of college. After graduating the class is adjusting well to college life and school work. Some are attending schools close by, far away, and even studying abroad.

Sam Scarpone, the student council’s previous secretary, is doing well at the University of Delaware. She says that after graduating from Padua, she felt both academically and socially prepared for college and that being a part of the APS pilot program really helped her for the real world and interacting with others. Natalia Ziemecki, also attending the University of Delaware, says that “the stability of [Padua] provided me with during high school was a huge significance to me and helped me grow…steadily despite all of the teenage angst we all go through during high school.”

Ashlyn Imburgia is attending Neumann University, a small catholic school in Pennsylvania. Ashlyn and Sam Scarpone both agree that they miss the sisterhood of Padua. Ashlyn is excelling in her classes in the very competitive nursing program. She especially noted that Padua’s English department prepared her for writing extensive papers in college. The biggest difference is using MLA formatting — she uses ALA NOW. She says “I felt like I betrayed Mrs. Holladay by not putting an MLA header!”

All of the girls agree that Padua Academy prepared them for the work load in college and prepared them to adapt socially in college. They extended consoling words to the class of 2014 that is worried about going to college next year. All in all, our Padua ladies are well prepared for college after their unrivaled education here and are taking the world by storm.
