Prince George is Baptized

On Wednesday October 23rd, 2013, Prince George made his second appearance in three months as he arrived at Saint James Palace with his parents, Prince William and Catherine Duchess of Cambridge, for his christening. George was dressed in an elaborate lace and satin christening gown, an exact replica of the one made in 1841 for the christening of Queen Victoria’s eldest daughter. The ceremony only included immediate family and friends, refusing any photographers’ presence. The royal baby has seven godparents, each of whom are a special part of William and Catherine’s lives. It has been a rare sight to see four generations of royals in a portrait together since 1894, when Queen Victoria was on the throne. The baby boy made history also because he is the first royal baby to be honored with a christening coin from the Royal Mint. History was not only made for the Royal family but it was also made for the people who will one day be Prince George’s subjects.
