As an all girls school, it is necessary for Padua Academy to promote healthy self image and equality, and they do. Padua allows for all students to feel comfortable in their own skin. High school can be a traumatic experience for both girls and boys; it is common for students to be bullied, mostly because of surface observations: weight, hair color, skin color, etc. However at Padua, these things don’t come into play. Ashley Muschiatti, a senior, states “I have really enjoyed my four years at Padua, I have always felt comfortable enough to do whatever I wanted without being judged. Padua welcomes a diversity of people and because everyone is different in their own way there is no one perfect self Image, so everyone feels comfortable enough to express themselves however they like.”

In addition to feeling comfortable, teachers and administration at Padua work on empowering the students and encouraging them to be leaders not just in school, but in every aspect of their lives. Angie Spadaccini, a senior, states “I think that the rigor of the classes and the independence encouraged by the teachers has not only made me a more self reliant person, but also more confident in myself and my abilities.” Padua instills into its students knowledge of their worth and really allows for the growth and development as a person, not just a student. Students that graduate from Padua leave knowing all that they are capable of and that they will succeed in college.
