Frustrated mother takes bullying awareness to a whole new level

Sarah Cymbaluk of Fosston, Minnesota, is a concerned mother with a daughter that is broken due to the bullies at her school. Cymbaluk is not alone in her frustration and concern, but she recently took action on her own because she was tired of not being taken seriously. When her daughter came home from school one day in tears, Cymbaluk took the liberty to record her on her camera phone. In the video, she says, “tell me how it makes you feel.” “It makes me feel sad, and scared, and I don’t like it,” the little girl replies, who appears to be no more than ten years of age. After recording the video, Cymbaluk posted on Facebook, and it got more than 10,000 shares in the first 24 hours alone.
The video posted by Cymbaluk provoked many different reactions from the viewers. According to cnn.com, Nancy Willard, director of the group Embrace Civility in the Digital Age, which works on combating cyber-bullying, agrees 100% with the method Cymbaluk used. She believes in documenting, never justifying, and taking everything seriously – as it deserves to be taken. Willard wants parents to know that they do have the power to make the difference. Even though it  may seem bizarre to take a video of your crying child, awareness needs to be spread, and parents need to care.
