Closing Liturgy
On May 16th the seniors final liturgy took place. The seniors were wearing the traditional white dresses and all looked beautiful. They entered in the cafeteria, walking one by one while being announced in name order. All the student body and faculty turned around to see the gorgeous dresses proceeding in. Some girls walked in with tears in their eyes, sad to leave their precious Padua class. The opening call to worship was done by senior Sammi D’Amico and our gathering song was “Awesome God.” The presider of the liturgy was Reverend Nicholas Waseline.
The whole school sang their two favorite songs: “We Are One Body” and “Go Light Your World.” Senior Music Ministers gathered together to sing an emotional song for their class. As every closing liturgy, the mass ended with the traditional “Moving Up” ceremony. This is when each class switches their seating place and move onto the grade they will be in for the following year. “It was very emotional to see all the girls tearing up, and it’s hard to believe that I will be in their position two years from now,” says sophomore Lauren Wilcox. It was an unforgettable and emotional way to end the year. Best of luck to the senior class of 2014!
