First APS Session

On Thursday, September 4, the first APS session of the 2014-2015 year was held. Ever since last year, APS has offered a positive outlook for students, as well as teachers. Students of each grade have come together as a group to meet and work with each other. With each activity they start learning about each other’s lives both inside and outside of school. The teachers have also benefitted from APS. They are able to bond with students that they have never taught before and are also able to participate in the group activities.

The first APS was a success and really let students get reacquainted each other. They worked on using words to form together a sentence about who they were as individuals. Jen Jordan (‘15) stated how she felt about the first APS session, “It was a good icebreaker for the girls who didn’t meet their little sisters. It was like a welcome back to APS.”

Mr. Lawler also gave his opinion on a teacher’s perspective on the topic. He said, “It was great! Everybody participated and their moods were positive which was good for the new freshman. I felt like it was very successful in the fact that everybody had fun and enjoyed each other.”
