Big sister-little sister sleepover
On Friday, September 26, seniors and freshmen gathered in the cafeteria with blankets and pillows for the annual Big Sister/Little Sister Sleepover. The Big Sister-Little sister program is one of the many traditions at Padua where a senior is assigned a freshman to help them throughout the school year. The sleepover began at nine o’clock with a seniors vs. freshmen “finish the lyrics” game. In this game a song was played and the winners were picked based on the volume of their singing. It was a tough decision, but the seniors came out on top. Following finish the lyrics was a game based on knowledge of Padua trivia. After a quick game of whisper down the lane, the dance team taught everyone a dance to the song “Rather Be.” This exciting dance concluded the activities portion of the night.
The fun continued as the girls watched many classic Disney Channel movies beginning with “The Cheetah Girls.” Big and little sisters spread out blankets and pillows across the cafeteria floor and relaxed while socializing and watching the movies. Not much sleeping was done as many great movies entertained the girls the whole night.
It was an early morning as the bright lights and the cheery voices of Mrs. Mann and Mrs. Maguire woke up the girls at 6 a.m. Dozens of doughnuts were awaiting the sisters. Cameron Scully (‘18) comments, “It was so much fun hanging out with my friends, even though we had to wake up at six.” The groggy students cleaned up their beds and everyone was on their way home by 7 only to spend the rest of their days catching up on sleep.
