BSLS Baking Competition
On Tuesday, March 17, Padua seniors gathered in the cafeteria with their freshmen little sisters to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day with cookies, hot cocoa, and competition. Freshmen and seniors were asked to bring in any kind of homemade baked good to enter a competition to see who could create the most delicious treats. They participated individually, or as teams or pairs. A panel of teachers judged and picked their favorites as winners, who happened to all be freshmen. Kayleen Italia and Juliana Testa tied with Caroline Burseler for first place, and Carter Vaughn was awarded honorable mention.
Freshman Becca Miller enjoyed the event on Tuesday. She said, “The hot chocolate was really good and I enjoyed getting to talk to my big sister”. She also enjoyed the delicious cookies and good company. Becca says she likes the Big Sister/Little Sister program because, “It really helps with transitioning into Padua. It helps you feel included and it’s really nice to talk to upperclassmen.” She is excited to be a Big Sister herself and help freshmen transition into Padua. The BSLS program is a great Padua tradition that will hopefully continue for years to come.
