Movie Review: That Awkward Moment

“Where is this going?” is a question that frequently pops up in relationships. The new movie, That Awkward Moment, starring Zac Efron and Imogen Poots, explores this issue in a relationship for three post-college Manhattan men living in New York City.

These men make a pact to stay bachelors after each of them have relationship troubles. To their surprise, in the midst of this pact they each find love. In this romantic comedy, when asking, “where is this movie going,” the answer is always to more eruptions of laughter due to the heart breaking and simultaneously awkward love scenes.

Staying from the classic romantic-comedy chick flick, That Awkward Moment has reinvented the bromantic-comedy. Senior Lauren Eck said “I went to see the movie That Awkward Moment with friends. I thought it was awkwardly hysterical. It wasn’t really a movie I would watch with anyone but my best friend because of some of the off-color scenes, but I think that it was truly a good love story kind of movie.” This movie is perfect for a Valentine’s Day date night, a night out with girl friends or a night out with the guys.
