Mockingjay Part 1: Number One Movie to Mock?

One word sums up my feelings on Mockingjay Part 1. Disappointment. We last saw Peeta and Katniss had to fight for their lives again in the 75th or third Quarter Quell after winning the previous games. In the anger of the Capitol, the victors form a secret rebel alliance with Haymitch, the previous victor. The rebel alliance protected Katniss and Peeta until Katniss makes the ultimate rebellion against the Capitol by destroying the games.  After the trending second movie of the trilogy, Catching Fire, the second movie, caught everyone’s heart, but Mockingjay failed to do the same. As Katniss Everdeen ( Jennifer Lawrence) continues to face the capitol in the Hunger Games saga she pays the consequences of shooting the arrow of rebellion when Peeta and Johanna are captured by the Capitol. After recovering in District 13 from her emotional and physical injuries from the games and the destruction of her home, she faces reality to become the mockingjay for District 13, the face of the rebellion.  Meanwhile, as Katniss, girl on fire, becomes the mockingjay she faces traumatic events that may affect her alliance with President Coin of District 13 and the love triangle.

When I first saw Mockingjay, I was bored. The storyline of the movie wasn’t anything to  what I expected. I was personally disappointed in the movie because I was expecting the rebellion to start or be more intense or maybe a surprise ending. I wanted something that leaves me to see Mockingjay: Part 2, but I can only give Mockingjay 3 stars out of 5.
