Firefly Music Festival

Firefly Music Festival is an annual event that began in 2012 and spans over a four day period. Firefly Music Festival is held in The Woodlands of Dover International Speedway in Dover, Delaware. Firefly has sold four day passes and single day passes until this year when Firefly announced that they will no longer be selling single day passes.

The headlines in 2012 included Jack White, The Killers, and The Black Keys. The Killers happen to be headlining this year also. Jack White had just released a self-produced solo album titled Blunderbuss just a couple months before Firefly. The Black Keys was formed in 2001, with the duo Dan Auerbach and Patrick Carney.

Red Hot Chili Peppers, Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers and Foster the People were the headlines in 2013. The Red Hot Chili Peppers are an American rock band formed in Los Angeles. Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers has be active since 1976 and they are an American Rock Band. One of Foster the People’s biggest song was “Pumped Up Kicks.”

The Firefly headlines for 2014 included Outkast, Foo Fighters, and Jack Johnson. Outkast is a hip-hop duo formed in 1992 in Georgia. The Foo Fighters’ genre is alternative rock, post-grunge, and hard rock. Jack Johnson is a songwriter, singer, musician, actor, record producer, and former professional surfer. On February 17, 2015, the Firefly lineup was officially announced. The headliners include Kings of Leon, The Killers, and Paul McCartney. Kings of Leon has many singles at number one on the Hot Modern Rock Tracks chart.

This is the second time The Killers have been headliners during previous Firefly Music Festival. Paul McCartney became popular by being a member of the Beatles in the 1960s. Darby Deutsch who is currently a sophomore in high school, went last year and said she had a wonderful time and that she would love to go again. Everyone is counting down the days to the start of the 2015 Firefly Music Festival.
