Partners In Science

March 25, began the first day of “Partners in Science”, a service project that allows Padua students to go over to the Urban Promise School in Wilmington De. The Urban Promise School allows young kids a place to come after school to learn more, have fun, and be taught simple discipline. This project allows high school students to help kids from first to fifth grade in underprivileged areas. Every Tuesday for the next 3 weeks Padua students will help these kids create a project and on the last week they will have a science fair to showcase their projects. Student Logan L. says, “I like that it helps the kids become interested in the science fields, and can strike an interest in job in the sciences, I love the program .” Some of the more popular projects among the kids were, how to make slime, egg bounce, and the lava lamp. Teacher Mrs. Alinda is in charge of this project and she says that “Its a beautiful thing to see the kids, they get so excited when they see the students walk in the room and watching them all bond is what I really like about the project .” This projects is considered a huge success and will hopefully be continued for multiple years.
