Sarah Hart Takes On Padua Academy

On April 11, 2014, Padua Academy had a special guest, Sarah Hart, come and sing during their assembly. Sarah Hart also accompanied the Padua seniors on their senior retreat and accompanied Padua students on their Pilgrimage on Saturday, April 12.

Sarah Hart is a staff songwriter for spiritandsong.com. Sarah Hart isn’t only a singer and a songwriter, but also a mother to two daughters. Her love for music and ministry is what she ties into her songs. She has performed at numerous places and her music has been featured on some television shows. Many of her listeners are of all ages and backgrounds.

After being introduced at the beginning of the assembly, Sarah Hart started it off with a classic Disney song, from the popular movie The Little Mermaid. All of the students joined in singing, “Part of Your World,” which is sung by Ariel. Then she taught the students some hand gestures that went along to the lyrics of a gospel song. While singing the gospel song, Sarah also incorporated some parts of some hit songs that are repeatedly played on the radio. All the students chimed in and sang along with the rest of their Padua sisters. After they finished singing this mashup, Hart described her experience meeting the Pope. She explained to the students how God will open doors for them as long as they pursue their dream. Once explaining her interesting experience, she prayed with the students through song. Then everyone sang the popular song, “We are One Body,” which the Padua students sing very often. However, this was not the end of the assembly. Some seniors came on stage and showed the rest of the Padua students some more hand gestures that went along to the popular song, “Lean On Me.” All of the students had a partner and joined in, with tons of laughs and fun, singing this classic song.

The assembly was a very fun way for the students to end their week. Everyone enjoyed singing together and enjoying some time with their Padua sisters outside of class. Padua freshman, Hannah Danz, shared her opinion on the recent assembly. She explains, “I thought the assembly was very heartwarming how she told her story about the Pope and I really enjoyed it.”  The students had a great time and it was very interesting for them to hear about Sarah Hart’s experience.
