Student Profile – Erin Callaghan
When Erin Callaghan first got accepted into Padua she had a goal for herself. She wanted to qualify for states for track and field. Being able to qualify for states is very difficult for a freshman to do. However, with hard work and dedication Erin Callaghan will be able to do it. By being on the winter track team she knew what the competition would be like for outdoor track and field. With practicing six days a week she should soon be able to achieve this goal of hers.
Over the summer Erin Spends her time volunteering at the YMCA camp at the Hanby outdoor center. She learns to have great leadership with being a counselor for the younger children at this camp. Along with volunteering at the YMCA camp over the summer she is was a member of NJHS at her old middle school, Saint Mary Magdalen. Along with being in NJHS there she was also in the school play. By being in those groups at Saint Mary Magdalen it was easier for her to become a camp counselor. Erin plans on continuing to be a camp counselor this summer also.
Another great aspect of Erin is her ability to take care of her school work, along with being on the cross country and indoor and outdoor track team. Coming into Padua Erin had knowledge of what amount of schoolwork that she would indoor from her older sister Ellie. By having this older role model made Erin’s transition from middle school to high school much easier.
