Top 10 SNL Hosts of Season 37

Promoting Tower Heist, Ben Stiller returned to host SNL with musical guest Foster the People. Sketches included “Best of Both Worlds with Hugh Jackman,” where Hugh Jackman is played by Andy Samberg and Daniel Radcliffe is played by Hugh Jackman. In addition to an SNL Digital short, Ben Stiller also appeared in Weekend Update as his character from Zoolander.
Zooey Deschanel hosted the Valentine’s day episode of Saturday Night Live with Karmin as a musical guest. She started off the show by playing the ukelele and singing a song about being alone for Valentine’s day. The “Get in the Cage” Weekend Update segment with Andy Samberg playing Nicolas Cage was visited by the real Nicolas Cage. Zooey Deschanel also appeared in a sketch parodying The Artist along with a sketch called “Bein’ Quirky with Zooey Deschanel,” where Zooey was played by cast member Abby Elliott.
Harry Potter star Daniel Radcliffe hosted Saturday Night Live for the first time with musical guest Lana del Rey. The monologue consisted of Daniel talking about Harry Potter sketches that have been done in the past years. Daniel Radcliffe appeared in sketches such as Target Lady, Delaware Fellas, a Harry Potter dropout sketch, and the talk show parody “You Can Do Anything!”
Alec Baldwin from 30 Rock hosted the season 37 premiere with musical guest Radiohead. This episode marked Baldwin’s 16th time hosting the show, which set the record of the most times ever hosted. Steve Martin, who has hosted 15 times, appeared in the opening monologue along with Seth Rogen. Alec appeared as the moderator of a GOP debate, a contestant on a gameshow, and as Al Pacino in a Top Gun Digital short.
Jason Segel hosted SNL to promote his television show How I Met Your Mother with musical guest Florence + the Machine. Jason started out the show with a musical monologue accompanied by The Muppets. Other sketches included The Vogelchecks with Paul Rudd, Regis and Kelly, and Weekend Update with Seth Meyers and Kermit the Frog.
Promoting Bridesmaids, former cast member Maya Rudolph hosted SNL for the first time with musical guest Sleigh Bells. Amy Poehler also returned as a guest to resume her part for “Bronx Beat with Jodi and Betty” and she co-anchored Weekend Update with Seth Meyers. Maya Rudolph was also in a Punk’d parody, “Maya Angelou: I Know Why The Caged Bird Laughs.”
Will Ferrell hosted SNL for the third time since his departure from the show with musical guest Usher. The episode had many classic Will Ferrell sketches and impressions, such as George Bush and The Culps. Will Ferrell was also featured in the 100th Digital Short, with other guests such as Justin Bieber, Jon Hamm, and Justin Timberlake.
Former cast member Jimmy Fallon hosted the Christmas Episode of SNL with musical guest Michael Bublé. Jimmy brought back many sketches from his years on SNL, such as I Wish It Were Christmas Today (with Tracy Morgan, Horatio Sanz, and Chris Kattan), Sully and Denise (with Rachel Dratch), and a Weekend Update joke-off with Tina Fey and Amy Poehler.
To promote The Amazing Spider-man, Emma Stone hosted SNL for the second time with musical guest Coldplay. Andrew Garfield appeared in the monologue and Chris Martin appeared during Weekend Update. Emma Stone appeared in sketches such as Secret Word, Herb Welch, and the SNL Digital Short with Andy Samberg.
Mick Jagger hosted the Season 37 finale of SNL with musical guest Arcade Fire and Foo Fighters. It was Kristen Wiig, Andy Samberg, and Abby Elliott’s last show as a cast member, and there were guest appearances from Steve Martin, Amy Poehler, Jon Hamm, Chris Kattan, and Rachel Dratch. Mick Jagger was featured in many sketches such as The Californians, Secret Word, and a karaoke sketch that had other cast members imitating Mick Jagger.
