Finding a Winter Ball dress can be difficult. Some dresses don’t fit right, some don’t have a nice color, and some just are not pretty. Even as Winter Ball approaches, some of us still don’t have a dress. A big part of our whole Winter Ball experience is finding the perfect dress, but we sometimes need help on what exactly we are looking for.
Some of the most popular styles for dresses this year are high- low dresses. A high- low dress is shorter in the front and longer and flowy in the back. Other popular dresses are one- shoulder dresses, strapless dresses, and flowy dresses. Some cute designs are sequins and rhinestones, but not too many. It is better to keep it simple when it comes to sequins and rhinestones. Lace is also common on some dresses, but don’t pick one with too much lace. Cute belts are added to some dresses for shape and design. Don’t go for a dress that is too loud or gaudy for a semi-formal. It is best to keep it simple, but cute. Emily Platz said, “My favorite type of dresses are one shoulder, flowy dresses. I don’t like too many rhinestones. I prefer a simpler, but cute style for my dress.”
The most popular colors are dark, yet vibrant, colors. All shades of red are great for any dress. Dark blue and royal blue are very pretty colors for a more elegant look. Purple and dark purple are good colors for an elegant but fun look. Hot pink is nice for a fun and vibrant dress. Black and gray are very elegant when they are paired with the right style dress. Colors in the black and gray family need an elegant style dress in order to look good. Gwendolyn Bugglin- Borer said, “My favorite colors for a dress are blue and purple. I think those are the colors that look best on me, but it also depends on the style of the dress.”
There are plenty of stores and plenty of dresses to choose from. There is bound to be that one dress you will love, even though it can be hard to find it. Don’t rush, just take your time. Everyone has a different style and there will be something for your taste. Don’t stress if you’re having trouble finding your dress, you’ll find it eventually. Just know what you are looking for in a dress and you will surely find it.
