The Westown Town Center has decided to build the first ever movie theater in Middletown Delaware. It will be a 12-screen digital multiplex with stadium seating and 12 to 15 auditoriums. By Thanksgiving next year, Helmick Westown LLC expects the movie theater to be fully completed.
The theater is going to be constructed across from Wal-mart with 44,500 square feet and owned by Helmick Westown LLC. Helmick Westown LLC is a group of investors from the Wilmington and Delaware areas. The theater will be run by Westown movies and could possibly be finished as early as the first two weeks of November.
The beginning of the construction is going to begin the first week of May. The theater will be able to hold 1,895 viewers with large screens in every auditorium. The project is estimated to cost anywhere between 10 and 12 million dollars.
The 12-acre theater will show many movies and spare Middletown residents the long drive to the nearest theater. Local officials and developers have worked to accelerate growth at the site. News of the coming theater has drawn in interest from mid-sized national retailers and restaurant chains.
